In the produce department. He asked me how to tell if a melon was ripe.
That is what my official story is going to be...when people ask how I met my next boyfriend. But the truth will be I met him online. Yes. I have taken the plunge and joined an online dating site.
So far I have no horror stories. I had joined an online dating site before (a free one with a LOT of weirdos) and actually received an email message where the guy attached a picture of his nipple. Apparently he thought that would turn me on. It didn't. What it got him was blocked. I have a few hopefuls, in the beginning stages of awkward emails. I'm not looking for anything serious at the moment, but just trying to get myself out there and keeping busy. If I find Mr. Right, then cool, if I don't, that's cool too.
I managed to only get pictures of my lunch yesterday, somehow breakfast and dinner escaped my camera's watchful eye. Ok...the truth is that I had the same thing I have for breakfast everyday and dinner was a repeat of the chicken lime burger from Trader Joe's the other night washed down with some of the leftover cookie dough from Tuesday's binge. Lunch was the leftover flatbread from Aquitaine and a bowl full of raw veggies.
After dinner, I did some speedwork on the treadmill at the gym. I can't wait to be able to get back to the track for my speedworkouts, but alas, it's too dark out by the time I'm ready to run. Hopefully it will be light enough when I get back from DC. Next week I add another half mile to my Tuesday/Thursday runs and I'm looking forward to it. I am at 3.5 miles now and I'm getting to the point where it feels like it's not enough, so I will be happy to push it a little bit more next week. (Knock on wood) but this is the best training program that I've done. I don't have any pains or blisters and I'm ecstatic. Let's hope this keeps up!
Have you ever tried online dating? Any horror stories?
Yay! I think it's a great! I met my hubby on eharmony...he is definitely my soul mate and I couldn't even imagine life without him. It's funny that Mr. Right can be so close to you (he only lived 5 minutes from me) but we never met until then :)
ReplyDeleteI met my husband in a chat room in 2001. It kind of pre-dated the big Match.com/eHarmony boom! I think you just have to be a little careful and follow your gut. Based on the nipple picture story, it sounds like you pretty much know how to do it! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried online dating but I know lots of people who have. Dating horror stories hmm... I have had some bad dates but just bad since we didn't connect AT ALL. Nothing completely crazy though!
ReplyDeletei met my man pal on plenty of fish! a free site that harbors some freaks, but obvi there are normal people too. just be careful and follow your gut, and don't lie about where you met! what's wrong with saying you met your bf online? that's how most people meet nowadays.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you are feeling good on the workout plan, way to go!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the dating site is concerned, I continuously hear about more and more success stories, so go for it! I can't wait to hear more about it!
I've done online dating before. No horror stories, but lots of funny/awkward stories! It didn't work out for me, but I know a lot of people who have had success and even gotten married from match and eharmony! And regardless of success, you are bound to get a lot of stories from it!
ReplyDeletei know a lot of people who have met their partners through online dating, i hope it works out for you:D
ReplyDeleteGo you for signing up for the online dating!
ReplyDeleteI tried it once... and went on a date with a guy who licked my face! That was the end of that (the guy, not the online dating).
I have not "jumped in" yet, but I'm not opposed. My friend did it and had a really good time. She actually met her current boyfriend offline, but said internet dating made her much more comfortable bc she went on quite a few dates...
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! To online dating! I can't wait to hear dating stories.
ReplyDeleteNipples are hot.
ReplyDeleteAnd horror stories? How much time do you have? I got aplenty! But also some normal stories as well (they just aren't as fun!)
Good luck with online dating! I've never tried it but a lot of my friends met like that. I took the easy way and married my best friend from college :)
ReplyDeleteI met my husband through Match.com in 2003 (married in 2005). Lots of our now-married friends also met through Match. Initially I told people we met at the gym. He however insisted on telling people we met at a family reunion, in fact he still tells people that and I get annoyed every time he says it. Other than that, I'm super happy with how things turned out :) Best of luck to you!
