Another Shopping Spree

Happy Monday friends! I don't really know what's happy about it really, because let's be honest, Mondays are the worst.

Either way, I hope you all had a good weekend, I know I did! As I mentioned, the boy and I went ice skating on Frog Pond Friday night. The weather was cold, but not too bad. I of course overdressed and ended up a hot sweaty mess by the end. I did bring my camera to the rink, but it was snowing a little hard when we arrived, so I took a few pictures of the rink and then put the camera back in the car. I was nervous about the moisture of the snow on the camera. Yes, I know I was probably overreacting, but this camera was a huge purchase for me and I'm a little protective of it still. The few pictures I did take of the rink and the area around the Common were beautiful though. It was a gorgeous night filled with laughter (mine, at the boy, he's a bad skater).

We skated for a little over an hour and neither one of us fell the whole time even though I thought the boy was going down face first several times. The rink was a little more crowded than I would have liked, but all in all it wasn't as crowded as I've seen it in the past. We had a great time just the two of us and I can't wait to go again.

Saturday I went shopping and to lunch with my lovely friend Danielle to the Wrentham Outlets. Here she is posing with Bailey, who is not psyched to have yet another photo taken of her.

Stop pointing that thing at me!

I feel like I go to Wrentham practically every other weekend. I wasn't actually going for any specific purpose, just to help Danielle pick out a wallet for her mom, but I ended up finding a STEAL of a dress at Maxazria for the bargain price of $19.50.

Funny enough, Danielle bought the same dress even though we are completely different body types. It just goes to show you that a really great dress can look good on anyone. I plan on wearing this dress to the launch party of the Boston Food Bloggers website next week. Even though I was excited to be getting such a great dress for so little, the sales girl acted like I was stealing it...as I was paying she said in a snotty little voice "these are forever 21 prices, they may as well be giving it away." Um, what? You work in an outlet store, things are supposed to be cheap here. Don't hate on me because you weren't cool enough to get a job in a real high end store. Whatever. I got a great dress and your job sucks. Sorry.

Moving right along, apparently scoring such a great dress for so cheap awakened the sleeping shopaholic in me, because I dragged the boy to Ikea Saturday night, where I found a pastry set that I was very excited about, along with a new wok (I destroyed my last one) and a laundry hamper. Exciting stuff I tell you. We really know how to spend a Saturday night!

For whatever reason, Ikea was BUSY for a saturday night. I had a hard time even finding a spot. We had a little situation where a spot got stolen from me and the boy and I had a lengthy discussion on whether or not we were going to go key the guys car and what key we would use, what we would write, etc. No worries, we didn't actually do it, but we REALLY wanted to.

Anyway, my original mission was to find a picture for our kitchen as I have one bare wall when you come in the back door that was desperately crying out for some decoration. We also went to Ikea for the cinnamon buns, but that's another story. We failed to find a suitable picture at Ikea, so I then suggested Christmas Tree Shop, which also failed. Not to be deterred, I decided to try Home Goods in Natick, where we finally found one that suited both of our tastes and was the right size and price. Finally the shopping beast was tamed and we went home. I could have shopped all day and all night until I found what I wanted.

Sunday was spent in the kitchen more or less all day. French toast for breakfast, chicken enchiladas for lunch, and turkey chili for dinner, with crinkle cookies baked in between. I only left the kitchen to shower basically, which is fine because a lot of delicious things came out of the kitchen yesterday!

How was your weekend? What's your favorite store to shop at?
