Crinkle Cookies

Good morning! Today's recipe is actually the cookie featured in my header. I love these cookies not only because they taste really good but also because they are a beautiful cookie. That's right, I just called a cookie beautiful. I'm a foodie, remember? Anyway, here is my recipe for crinkle cookies. I had taken this recipe from a magazine years ago (but had never made it until now). I'm happy to say that this recipe was a smashing success!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 2/3 cups of flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsps baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 stick of unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
splash of vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream butter and sugar.

Add one egg at a time, mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.

Gradually add dry ingredients (except for powdered sugar) to wet mixture and mix well.

Form balls with the dough, dipping into powdered sugar and placing on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes.

Makes 2 dozen cookies.

As usual, I consumed copious amounts of dough (these make REALLY great cookie dough by the way) and I ended up with only 22 cookies. Whoops.

  1. Looks so good! Although making cookies with a hand mixer is enough to make me cry.

  3. I love crinkle cookies... especially when they are a little underbaked and still warm!

  4. These look so good, and easy enough that I can maybe even pull them off with my limited baking ability!
