Let It Snow...

...somewhere else.

I hate snow. We had the first substantial snow storm of the year in Boston yesterday and last night.

It completely caught me off guard, I didn't even know it was supposed to snow. Therefore, yesterday morning I put on my usual 4 inch heels and caught the bus to work.

Little did I know that there was going to be someone's last day party at work and everyone was heading out to the bar after work.

Now, I work in the financial district and there is nothing but bars and restaurants all around, but of course we are going to a bar that is about a 10-15 minute walk when there is no snow...so of course it took me 20 minutes of short choppy steps and about 50 close calls from falling flat on my ass, but I made it to the bar.

Which meant that I did NOT want to trudge back 20 minutes through the snow in my heels to catch the bus back home, so the boy said he would swing by and pick me up on his way out of Boston. In the ambulance. Yes folks, I got to hitch a ride in the ambulance.

This is not the boy's ambulance, but I had to post it because it says Waltham on the side, which is where I live so I thought that was a funny coincidence. Unfortunately, because the weather and traffic were so bad in Boston, I was only supposed to ride with the boy to do one pickup...but that pickup ended up taking four hours. We didn't get home until after 10:30 last night. Riding in an ambulance (when you don't actually need one) is not as fun as you would imagine it to be.

Waking up this morning, I headed out to run some errands, and CeCe (my car) was covered!

It doesn't look like much, but it wreaked havoc in Boston last night. It's funny how people suddenly forget to drive in the snow.

So since I posted this morning about the holidays, I went to Target today and felt a little guilty about my house being completely devoid of Christmas spirit, so I bought these.

There. Now maybe Santa will visit my house and bring me a new camera.

  1. Wow, I give you a ton of credit for hiking it in those heels! I think I would have said, "Nice knowing ya!" to the coworker!

At least it gave you an excuse to see the boy! (:
