Oh Wait, This is a Food Blog?

TGIF people!!!!! I think I might be the only person in the universe who does not have today off! I do get out early though, so that's a bonus. The boy and I have a hot date tonight for New Year's Eve.

Since I haven't shown you any of my meals this week, I thought it was high time since you know, this is supposed to be a food blog and all. Breakfast yesterday morning was so good I decided to repeat it this morning. Two organic blueberry waffles topped with strawberries and pomegranate. The sweetness of the strawberries paired with the tartness of the pom arils was sublime.

Please pardon my shadow in the picture, I still have yet to get this photography thing down. Unfortunately I forgot to photograph my lunch yesterday, but it was just a side salad with a turkey sandwich. Then for dinner I made my go-to meal...a roasted sweet potato and sauteed brussel sprouts in olive oil, salt, and garlic. So simple, yet I was craving it almost all day yesterday.

I love to slice my sweet potato up into thin wedges, sort of like chips. I think this is the best way to eat a sweet potato and it cooks up so quick this way. The brussels I burn, because I love things burnt, especially brussels. Just looking at that picture makes me want to have it again for dinner tonight.

And just because I can and want to show off my sweet photography skills, here is a bonus picture of Bailey:

This is where she hangs out when either the boy or I are taking a shower. She has always done this and I'm not really sure why. Sometimes she will stand up with her paws against the liner like she's trying to reach out to me. Such a weird little cat.

Anyway, in blog news, if you follow me on twitter you already know that it has been a big week for the blog. Not only did I hit my highest viewership ever on Wednesday, but I also received the most comments on a single post (only eight, but for me it's a lot). It feels good to know that people are actually interested in what I have to say, so thanks for reading my ramblings and for still coming back, you guys are great!

Happy New Years everybody! Anyone have any good plans tonight?

  1. Congrats on the big blog week! Love your blog!

We need to eat burnt brussels together. You're the only person I know that likes them that way too! We could watch GH and eat brussels. Perfect.
